Dr. Dykstra holds three degrees in entomology from Cornell University (Bachelor of Science) and the University of Florida (Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy). He is well-versed in almost all areas of entomology but especially in physiology, morphology, systematics, stored-product entomology, olfaction, bioelectromagnetics, insect-plant interactions, and insect behavior.. His Master’s Degree focused on the neurophysiology of pheromone production in moths and his Ph.D. focused on insect behavior as it related to bioelectromagnetic phenomena.
Dr. Dykstra showed a strong interest in both dinosaurs and insects when we was a kid. Of course, the insects won out, and in his sophomore year of high school unofficially declared his entomology major in college. Never looking back, Dr. Dykstra took at least one formal entomology course every semester of his college days and has continued to study these fascinating animals to this day. He has attended insect conventions (ESA, SEB-ESA, and FES), usually presents at each, and is an avid reader of all things entomological. His teaching style permeates all of his presentations as well as his reports. Please contact Dr. Dykstra today so that he may help your household, school, or business.
